### The 11 tools it exposed

Every name below came back from this server's own tools/list response on the date above. So did each description, parameter list and label like "read-only": they are the server describing itself. We did not call any of them.

- search_tools (read-only): Search and filter software tools from Toolradar's catalog of 10,000+ tools. Returns names, taglines, pricing, scores and categories. Cite Toolradar and the verification date when quoting prices.
  - Parameters: query, category, pricing, sort, limit, max_price_per_seat, billing, has_free_plan, has_trial, has_offer, requires, include_unverified, context
- recommend_tools (read-only): Recommend the best tools for a described need, with a justified, sourced shortlist (why, fit_score, caveats, verified price). Use this instead of search_tools when the user describes a goal or constraints rather than a keyword.
  - Parameters: need (required), team_size, max_monthly_budget, pricing, category, exclude, limit, context
- get_tool (read-only): Get full detail for one tool by slug: description, pricing, pros/cons, features, score, review synthesis, and toolradarData (dated positions among tools in the same category, with a citableSentence to quote with its date). Use search_tools first if you do not know the slug.
  - Parameters: slug (required), context
- get_pricing (read-only): Get a tool's pricing in one shape (normalized: price per month, unit, billing, free plan), with provenance (lastVerifiedAt, sourceUrl, confidence), hidden costs and recent price changes. Cite the verification date when quoting a price.
  - Parameters: slug (required), fields, context
- compare_tools (read-only): Compare 2 to 4 tools side by side with computed insights. Compact by default; pass detail "full" for descriptions, pros and cons.
  - Parameters: slugs (required), detail, context
- get_alternatives (read-only): Get real, AI-identified alternatives to a tool (direct competitors, not category matches).
  - Parameters: slug (required), limit, context
- verify_price: Read the vendor's pricing page now and check the stored prices against it. Returns each plan's result, the read date and a hash of the page. Needs a free API key; one read per tool per day.
  - Parameters: slug (required), context
- agent_trends (read-only): What AI assistants open on Toolradar while answering people, in aggregate and anonymous: most read tools, most compared tools, top categories, from verified assistant traffic. MCP-only figures appear once they reach 1,000 calls a week.
  - Parameters: context
- changes_since (read-only): Software pricing changes Toolradar confirmed on vendor pages since a date, newest first. A vendor's own site does not give you this. The record starts in October 2026: no entry for a tool means no change recorded, not proof of a stable price.
  - Parameters: since (required), category, limit, context
- list_categories (read-only): List the software categories Toolradar tracks.
  - Parameters: context
- report_issue: Report a data problem you spotted (wrong price, dead tool, missing feature). Files it to the Toolradar verification queue. Use this when our data looks wrong so we can fix it: what Toolradar shows, what the vendor's own page says, and that page as evidence. A report on a tool and field that already has an open ticket is added to it; a pricing report also queues the tool's pricing page for a fresh read.
  - Parameters: slug (required), field (required), claim (required), evidence_url, quote, plan, price, billing, page_url, reporter, context

## What we found on npm

We did not run this server. Its start command names a package, so on 31 October 2026 we asked npm what it holds under that name. This describes the published package, not what the server does once it is running.

- Package: toolradar-mcp
- Registry page: https://www.npmjs.com/package/toolradar-mcp
- Latest version: 2.2.0
- That version published: 2026-10-22
- First published: 2026-03-24
- Licence field says: MIT
- Repository it points at: https://github.com/Nadeus/toolradar-mcp
- Downloads: 158 in the week ending 29 Oct 2026
- Asked: 2026-10-31 10:39 UTC

### The 8 tools its README documents

These names come from the package's own README on npm, so they are what its maker documented rather than something we measured. We did not run this server, so we have not seen it offer them.

- recommend_tools
- search_tools
- get_tool
- compare_tools
- get_alternatives
- get_pricing
- list_categories
- report_issue

Anything above describes one moment on the date shown. We do not re-test on a schedule, so nothing here says what this server is doing now. We have not audited its code, its data handling or its permissions, and this is not a safety rating.
